Eh, unlike the UK's actual laws that were on the books while the things you describe are a circus to make the supporters happy. No new law will go into effect after Mr. Steam testifies.
The UK's actions so far are real, lawful steps taken to seriously infringe the ability to have privacy when communicating or storing things electronically.

What’s happening now has been inevitable since the British political system, frankly, showed itself unable to govern its own.
