My brain can't process Nikola founder fraud case being dropped?

7•anon191928•4mo ago
How is it possible that direct fraud is not punished ? can anyone with little legal background give reasoning about it? is corruption and fraud fully legal now? This is all for learning things, hence asking publicly.

Perhaps you can link to what your referencing? From what I understand the fraud was prosecuted and they were sentenced but there was a presidential pardon granted.

As far as the legal perspective of pardons the president has wide latitude to pardon anyone for any reason they see fit and they don't even have to disclose the reason. I think in the history of pardons that have been granted this one is quite minor.

It’s your usual political corruption story.

> is corruption and fraud fully legal now?

If you are a favored party by the President or his administration, yes. If you are not, the law applies, perhaps even more rigidly than in the past.

As always, life is network and who you know.
