Honestly, the people hyping up AIs as being "all that" are to blame here. If regular people understood just how stupid the "bag of words" is, they wouldn't pay so much attention to it. But they're told every day by grifter techbros that we're on the verge of the singularity and that basically all jobs will be taken over by AI in the future.

In their greedy quest for ever-more money, these charlatans are the real grime in the system.

I always laugh, but I am extremely worried by the sales pitch about ai.

Its the; ai has human elements, it has a personality, it hallucinates, it thinks, it feels, it identifies, that annoys me most. its all bullshit.

A lacanian perspective, the mirror stage, is when the child first recognises itself in the mirror.

The human baby, immature, helpless, perceiving itself only in a fragmented way, is, at some point between the ages of six and eighteen months, going to see an image in the mirror, and realise that it is itself.

This will be the first time the baby discovers itself as a unitary being, and this discovery is the source of an intense feeling of joy and excitement, which is usually shared with the adult present; the infant, having made this discovery, turns back to look at its mother, for example, and shares with her its pride and surprise. This founding act, leading to the formation of the ego and the perception of the Subject, is attended by powerful emotions.

Is AI ever going to be able to look itself in the mirror and experience those amazing human emotions. NAH!

AI has nothing human!
