A bit of library introspection to supply the limits as readables seems like a no brainer.

I don't know it they still do, but Microsoft used to be quite good at this kind of thing.

Im doing a small tool to provide diagnostics and play with shader limits, hopefully it makes finding these limits easier in different machines and OSes. Still an early WIP: https://hugodaniel.com/pages/webgpu-diagnostics
The idea is to also see how Windows behaves and different drivers, and try to collect some safe boundaries
