I thought it was interesting since if given a specific deadline e.g. two weeks - I would imagine it'd show initiative if I submited it quickly, e.g. showing initative and all. But it does "sound" like a smart play to wait it out and submit later not at the deadline, but within the 50%-75% duration point.
You would think that bad work == rejection from the recruiter or that I'm weighing my work as less competitive but it does feel very meta for the process and a reflection of todays hiring schemes.
