Government by personal grudges.
Jtsummers•4mo ago
No actual justification given, no statement about what her "many wrongful acts" are. She's not been indicted for, or even accused of, any specific acts. This is just more nonsense.
1659447091•4mo ago
Do you know if she the one that made the choice to block Israel surveillance?

I don't remember seeing anything specific about her but seems like something that would provoke a Trump admin donor/friend to ask him to make that statement. If it were his own he would have gone on and on about his list of grievances

1659447091•4mo ago
Can't edit now, but looks like that is exactly what it is about as Trump has a meeting with Israel’s prime minister on Monday -- so it lines up with priming the meeting
1oooqooq•4mo ago
either that, or like Intel, she refused some kickback request hints.
AnimalMuppet•4mo ago
If so, then why not say so? Why just say "remove her", instead of "remove her because..."?

Does Trump think that the whole world obeys his every word, with no justification needed?

1659447091•4mo ago
It's not about obeying or any other nonsense.

It's politics, which people seem to miss my point about. Israel’s prime minister is a Trump admin friend, he has a meeting with him on Monday. It follows a pattern of his admin to bring up things related to people he has dealings with just before he deals with them.

It does not match his pattern of a real grievance of having offended him, in which case the bland (by Trump standards) statement was unlikely to be his idea and more likely his strategist politicking a move that also happen to check a couple auxiliary boxes -- so not anything that means anything other then a token to take into a meeting

AnimalMuppet•4mo ago
Ah, I see. Yes, makes sense.
sigwinch•4mo ago
It’s a template, right? Trump doesn’t know shit about Lisa Monaco. His post is a list of grievances with two prior administrations. At Microsoft, Monaco works with Trump’s own former trade rep CJ Mahoney. Loomer types and Trump hits send.
croes•4mo ago
> Monaco had helped coordinate the Justice Department's response to the January 6, 2021, attacks by Trump supporters on the U.S. Capitol. She served as a security aide in the administration of President Barack Obama and was the deputy attorney general in President Joe Biden's administration.

"Fascism is characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy."

"Common themes among fascist movements include: authoritarianism, nationalism (including racial nationalism and religious nationalism), hierarchy, elitism, and militarism. Other aspects of fascism – such as a perception of decadence, anti-egalitarianism and totalitarianism – can be seen to originate from these ideas."

LastTrain•4mo ago
It is astounding to me how casual the attitude is about this, a sitting President maligning a private citizen, on the media platform he owns, calling for her termination.
sigwinch•4mo ago
Well, his post and Loomer’s seminal post are bait. They get what they want if we react as if they’re telling the truth. It’s their first impulse to lie.

Don’t fall for the faux outrage. It took him 15 minutes or more to type all that out, and the people commenting here think much faster than him and Loomer. It’s gonna look casual.

LastTrain•4mo ago
You are only partially right. Ultimately they are looking for cues about whether they can proceed from other conservative voices, the rest of us are just noise. Everything is either a trial balloon or another rung in the ladder of debasement. But they aren't lying, they will gladly have her removed if they can get away with it.
sigwinch•4mo ago
They’re very definitely lying. Trump’s rambling post on this lobs three or four major accusations that won’t stand up under scrutiny.
LastTrain•4mo ago
Whether he is lying about /her/ or not isn’t the point, that he is using his position of power to get a random citizen fired is. And it isn’t bluster, he would gladly succeed and do it again. That it doesn’t even seem to register to you as extraordinary only demonstrates my point.

Who else is old enough to remember the (deceased) party of laissez faire?

Every assault seems curable by some "favor".

Government by grift.

bediger4000•4mo ago
I remember. When was the Republican party lying: then or now? One way or the other, Republican leadership is the lowest form of liars.
