But in many jurisdictions, crime data can misrepresent reality when laws aren’t enforced, when many crimes aren’t reported or counted, when weak judges remove incentives for victims to bother calling it in, etc. It’s helpful to believe your eyes when obvious lies are told that are disproven daily.
