You know I wouldn't mind the tariff so much if the other taxes came down and response to the application of the tariffs. What seems to be happening is we just got more taxes and all the talk about cutting other taxes in response to leveraging tariffs seems to have evaporated as part of the campaign.

Oh, there's tax cuts. It's just that you don't get most of them.
What's remarkable is that all these tax cuts balloon the deficit; butchering government services and putting tariffs on consumer goods doesn't come anywhere close to balancing it.
As Dick Cheney put it, “Reagan proved that deficits don't matter.” Though that doesn't prevent people from running on the deficit, then doing exactly the opposite in office -- and nobody seems to mind.
