“What was my oldest son doing when he was the same age my youngest son is right now?”
Sometimes I’ll scroll back in my photo albums to the exact date — looking at what my oldest was into then, and wondering if his younger brother might enjoy the same things at that age. That sparked the idea for a tool that makes these kinds of time comparisons easier.
What it does: • Lets you line up family members and see what they were doing at the same age. • Shows the top song, movie, book, toy, gadget, and baby names for any year (1920–2025). • Adds context like U.S. presidents, stock market closes, and everyday prices (gas, milk, bread).
It’s been fun to explore with my kids and compare “my age in the 90s” vs “their age now.”
Looking for feedback on: • Other data sources that would make it richer (sports, ads, world events?). • Whether the layout works well for you on mobile. • If a “share/print this year snapshot” feature would be useful.
