Show HN: Eclaire – Open-source, privacy-focused AI assistant for your data

Hi all, this is a project I've been working on for some time. It started as a personal AI to help manage growing amounts of data - bookmarks, photos, documents, notes, etc. Most of that data was sitting in the Apple ecosystem and their AI was not doing much to help... The idea was to have a self-hosted box that collects all the data and runs AI models locally, keeping everything private.

Once the data gets added to the system, it gets processed including fetching bookmarks, tagging, classification, image analysis, text extraction / ocr, and more. And then the AI is able to work with those assets to perform search, answer questions, create new items, etc. You can also create scheduled / recurring tasks to assign to the AI.

Through the use of Apple Shortcuts, it's easy to share data with the system through share sheet or global keyboard shortcut on Mac.

It’s still early and there's a lot of work to be done but would love to hear feedback.

Happy to answer any questions!
