Notably they put the games everyone is talking about like Silksong and Claire Obscura in the high tier.
corvad•1h ago
Also notable seeing as how they also increased Ultimate from $20 to $30.

The whole thing bothers me because I lived through cable TV going to hell because it was bundled and there wasn’t any market discipline. For instance, MTV used to show music videos that people wanted to watch (give people a choice in YouTube and they watch them) and started showing bad reality TV shows (that nobody would watch on VoD) because 65+ Sumner Redstone decreed it. (Once competitive FAST services arrived MTV introduced 5 channels of real music videos that are great). The market couldn’t tell Redstone he was wrong because you paid for MTV if you paid for cable.

On one hand Game Pass can be a good deal and it has not reached the enshittification stage yet so I am sure they are paying good money to the creators of the best games, for now. Once they crush the competition it’s an old story and it’s going to get worse. Games will get so bad that people will decide to play outside instead.
