this is either quite naive, or the projection for things to come is dire, as in there will be no need for cybersecurity, as there will be no cyber anything.

"frequent" is annual, it takes about 10 minutes after the first year unless you're an idiot. They added an option to test out of the sections a decade ago so unless you reliably fail most of that preassessment, it doesn't take long to do each year. This is true for most of the annual trainings. 1 hour or so each the first year, then 10-30 minutes each year after depending on how much the refresher lets you test out of (and how much of that you pass).
