Do they scencerely want to free themselves from Nvidia's dominance? If they do, then they could be sensible and expand support for GPU partitioning[0] in Windows. In addition to Nvidia, Microsoft could be using Intel Arc Graphics Virtualization[1] and AMD Instinct Virtualization[2] for their cloud workloads. Right now, they have a self-imposed limitation that limits it to Nvidia cards and Windows Server 2025.
