I may be completely wrong, but it seems to me Google might in fact have taken this step due to behind-the-scenes pressure from the State. If you want to control the country, it's important to control phones.

They have already admitted they got dictated by the Biden admin to censor.
Probably the same thing is happening under Trump. Yet everyone pretends what the
other side does is wrong.
I may be wrong, but I think this was Google banning far-right wing accounts posting lies?
And now - by Trump / the far-right - Google has been coerced into reinstating those accounts, and Biden admin is being blamed for the bans on the basis of banning free speech.
The problem here is that free speech must be truthful, not intended to deceive and/or mislead.
