It is a great article about some historical aspects of the things I have never used even once, so for the layman it is hard to remember who is Jonny, who is Alan and who is Scott. I have an opinion that proprietary software is absolutely bad, so from my opinion it is decent that the useds of snoop-phone have to suffer, no matter who did what.
And I do not understand the passage about why the third-party's "apps" are not Apple's apps. If the developers pay every year for using Apple's SDK and the "apps" do not run on non-Apple iron and it is well-known about relations between Apple and the walled garden approaches, so isn't it unnatural?
