Will humans be in a perpetual underclass because they create and follow click-bait headlines such as the one above?
one_and_zero•4mo ago
Betteridge's law of headlines says no.

People of all classes are trapped by structures they have no or very little control over.

The entire point of that subject called Philosophy revolves around the simple question - how do you stay free despite having no full control over your own mind, your own body, over your history, over the religious/social/cultural/economic rules you have inherited, no control over what wastes your time on HN etc etc.

People have recognized these traps since before Plato. No AI threat was required. So there is a lot of info out there on how to cope and even flourish despite all the constraints the universe has imposed on the chimp troupe. Ignore the moan and groan, cry and die crowd as the shrinks call them.

Instead go study some philosophy - https://oyc.yale.edu/philosophy/phil-181 It won't save your ass from all the randomness and unpredictability in the universe, but it will expose you to how people throughout history have already dealt with traps.
