Will the explainer post go extinct?

I think the article misses a big reason why they won’t go away, and that is people don’t know what they don’t know.

Technology Connections on YouTube is a great example of this. I was never going to ask AI about the in-depth details about dishwashers, but I’ve watched two 45 minute long videos on the topic and found them fascination. I thought toasters were toasters, until he showed one with a thermostat that blew my mind, and I wish had a modern successor. I never would have found this with AI, as I never would have thought to ask.

The 99% Invisible podcast is another example of this kind of thing.

Countless blogs do the same kind of thing for the readers.

AI limits people do the things they think to ask about. They don’t inspire new ideas on topics previously unknown.
