I’m a big fan of WarGames.

It would be great to have something that could speak like Joshua.

I had a Votrax back in the 80s, similar to the following, which was awesome:

https://youtu.be/t27e3-6yBWw

Joshua was actually voiced by actor Jim Wood (Falken), though. Jim read the lines backwards and then they chopped it up and did some audio processing on it:

Oh really, it doesn't sound too dissimilar to text to speech software in the 80s.

Never knew that, thanks!

One should note the officers in the missile silo at the opening of the film:

Michael Madsen of Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, and John Spencer of L.A. Law and of course, The West Wing.

Imsai wasn't the first personal computer...that was the MITS Altair 8800, which definitely came first.

And no one ever heard of Wargames? It continues to grow in popularity, according to IMDb, so someone must still be watching it. Besides, who doesn't like Matthew Broderick?
