What are your thoughts on vibe coding as professionals?

2•eibrahim•2h ago
I am personally loving it. I can build and ship stuff so much faster but I also have 20+ years of building software. I am not sure how well it will work for someone with 2 years of experience.

Also the biggest problem i have is not building or shipping, it’s marketing and getting users - I don’t know if that will get easier or harder with AI.

>I am personally loving it. I can build and ship stuff so much faster but I also have 20+ years of building software.

Same. when ai coding, my deep knowledge of exactly what i want it to be doing is essential. The ai quite often wants to meander into taking shortcuts; which perhaps can be blamed on my insufficient prompts?

>I am not sure how well it will work for someone with 2 years of experience.

depends on the quality of the 2 years; but lets even say complete amateurs. High quality AI will dig them into holes they dont know how to fix. It'll also often be able to dig out if you figure out the problem soon enough.

>Also the biggest problem i have is not building or shipping, it’s marketing and getting users - I don’t know if that will get easier or harder with AI.

It doesnt in my experience. Though this is a skills gap for me that AI isn't helping enough. I know so very little that getting even 1 customer is still out of reach even using AI.
