The desperation inherent in modern 3rd party AV messaging is a huge problem. Assisting seniors who got conned into a mcaffee install at boot time, the fear from the bombardment of warnings is palpable. They can't believe the integrated free product is "as good" which is sad.
Remnants of past AV install do not inspire confidence. It seems uninstalls aren't equal.
Microsoft should have done it sooner. The legal argument was FUD.
