It seems odd that these people are spending this much time racing for something that doesn't really have a strict deadline. So what if Anthropic beats OpenAI to something by 2 weeks. Even financially this is probably all just noise -- there's no rush to deliver this by Christmas.

Then again, if this is what they love to do then more power to them.
