No it’s stupidity incarnate. Or these people have ADHD and are having it abused for corporate profits. Either way these people are going to be empty walking husks in under a year, likely for the rest of their lives.
Wasn’t there some kind of research that said something along the lines of human productivity dropping like a stone after 30-35 hours per week of work?

that depends on the intellectual depth of the work. In true research, just a few hours or even days can be pivotal. Good mgmt helps set up conditions for that to happen more often.
