Bill Gates says a 2-day work week is coming in just 10 years, thanks to AI

AI is a sort of work hours veblen good. As it automates things, people working long hours becomes more important for status. Hence 996 and the year of agents happening at the same time.

Unfortunately, you'll only get 2 days pay
al_borland•3h ago
I can only assume there were similar reports during the industrial revolution. It doesn't exactly work that way.

Not to mention that AI doesn't solve any of the problems I have that lead to a longer work day and week. It's the meetings, discussions, debates, and politics of it all. Doing the actual work has never been the problem, it's everything in between so we know what work to do.

it seems like 2 or 3 jobs to fill the week, may be more the norm than a 2 day week.

the economic shift would be staggering; the increase in wage; or the decrease in cost required is boggling.
