I use "transition snacks" with my kids every day - small rituals that help them switch between activities. A cookie, a hug, acknowledging that transitions are hard. It works remarkably well. But honestly it is mostly cookies and chips :D
I read Dave Anderson's article about procrastination [1] and thought: procrastination is just adults struggling with transitions! I really like his framework (acknowledge, examine feelings, mood boost, break down tasks, celebrate) and thought it would be fun to combine it with a virtual snack in the terminal.
So I built a CLI with two modes to help with task transitions and procrastination:
- Quick mode: Instant encouragement with ASCII art (like a quick cookie)
- Guide mode: Interactive 5-step process based on Anderson's framework
Vibe coded in Rust, works on Linux/macOS/Windows. The language is explicitly neurodivergent-friendly (executive dysfunction is real, not a character flaw).

The demo GIF shows it in action: https://github.com/lassebn/transition-snack/raw/master/demo....
I'd love feedback on wheter this is actually useful, or just cute?
