Look, I think the 996 schedule is bananas and that it's wild hearing AI boomers talking about the coming 2 day work weeks while also making people work 996. We should all just chill the fuck out. But I also think that the past 20 years or so of the internet/tech industry really warped people's sense of what's normal. I love tech business culture! But so much of tech business culture has been developed in a zirp / culture where there we're infinite problems to solve. But now that power has been consolidated in a few companies, and the number of problems to solve with internet webapps is waning, it's going to become a much more competitive environment.
"Build something people want" is great! But the number of opportunities is diminishing fast.
