I have trouble believing Musk's odd behaviors really are playing a big part, now. I feel like workers sensitive to that behavior would have left a while ago. Or maybe that actually takes a while to really sink in for some folks?
In a world where AI talent is still in demand, competition combined with layoffs and similar actions in the AI space likely spur more movement than anything political or such IMO.

There's a certain amount of time you have to spend at a company to put it on your résumé without it prompting questions. This is a tacit deal in Elon companies. Elon gets his age discrimination and cheaper employees by throwing people into the deep end of the pool before they're ready, and those employees get experience putting a big AI on Nvidia chips. I bet he has to pay the hole diggers more, because his brand counts for less than that business.
