Big funni saying the US will 'benefit the many'. At least china's models are open and often locally runnable if you have the (expensive but attainable) hardware. Again, I chuckle because NVIDIA has segmented their offerings by kneecapping VRAM at the consumer level. The US AI push is centered around big models controlled by big companies to extract as much money as possible and defend OpenAI's investors against competition from startups.
I'm not a china-lover. Fuck the CCP. But It's hard not to recognize they're relatively more on the side of the little guy in the AI race, even if that's mostly an effort to undermine their political rival.
