Lies maybe? Please follow this- I'm just trying to open people's eyes here.

On the front page of NPR.org right now:

Democratic AGs and governors sue USDA for suspending SNAP benefits

Now, Search for this in Google RIGHT NOW in an Incognito window so to avoid your bubble.

republican lawmakers form snap bill

You see articles referencing this:

10 GOP senators co-sponsor Hawley's SNAP funding bill

And it's from the Hill, Newsweek.

Now search again with this:

republican lawmakers form snap bill npr

And you'll note that the same NPR article comes up again.

Now click on the top NPR article and ask yourself, well at LEAST this article is going to mention Hawley's bill? Search for Hawley.

No dice? Do you think the author of this article is simply UNAWARE of Hawley's bill? Sorry.

I'm sorry but a lie by omission is still a lie. They're trying on purpose to make this entire shutdown look one-sided. Democrats are the ones refusing to fund the CR. And now people are going to go hungry.

throwawayqqq11•3mo ago
Isnt this just whataboutism?

A compensating law against some negative effects of the shutdown is still no solution to it.

On the other side, refusing to pay obligations, like wages, is clearly against the law or (employment) contracts. So no matter how many partial new laws try to work around the shutdown, there will likely remain reasons to sue over.

almosthere•3mo ago
No this is an argument to get rid of NPR because of what they do to lose the trust of its viewers.
__d•3mo ago
Why “get rid of it”, instead of fixing it?
almosthere•3mo ago
sure, my point is Uri Berlinger left/fired from NPR a year ago and nothing has changed, but sure - maybe something will change.
