This open letter is going around at Amazon, and it seems super important. The cognitive dissonance between the way the tech barons are propping up AI vs the employees ground reality is really intense. It feels like we’re being burnt from both ends as we are expected to produce so much more with supposed AI assistance as we’re basically training our replacements. Morale for folks has tanked across the company. Not to mention the climate impact - It feels like the big tech companies have pretty much set their climate plans on fire in order to race each other for AI dominance. It also seems like the public opinion of AI is kind of at an inflection point, so if we as workers call out the bubble, I think we might be able to move the needle. What do y’all think?
