Ask HN: What difficulties have you encountered when obtaining AI information?

1•yeeyang•2h ago
I see tons of AI news every day. Either this model got updated, or that product just launched.

But what I really need is depth.

Take Claude Skills, for example. You'll see it mentioned countless times on Twitter, but what I actually care about is the best practices around Skills, public insights from Anthropic team members, or discussions on Reddit where people share their real experiences using it.

I need feedback from people who've actually put these tools into practice, not just sensational headlines.

I follow a lot of leaders at AI companies because their hard-earned lessons help me truly understand the relationship between AI and engineering.

I wonder if others have this same need. If there are enough people like me, I think I could build an information platform specifically for this kind of reading experience.

to pracgtice how so? i have likely over 4000 on webapps, mostly the big ones. became a documentation, ethics assessments and conversational research spanning the spectrum. Yet, I am not sure, I feel my approach isn't used as much as others but it sure does interesting things.

tbh, i don't want to keep up now. if it's that special, it will reach me, i'll know about it. the extreme hype around gen ai over the past 3-4 years kind of overdid it for me, it made me tired. i did want to once be at the top, follow twitter threas, newsletters. now i want what works. claude code for work, claude web for general tasks, chatgpt periodically when i want it to do some research. that's it. periodically i get to know a about a new advancement, i give it a try, if it sticks, cool, if it doesn't cool. i keep moving ahead.
