I fully believe they’ll leapfrog Tesla on this technology. Lucid is legit. Tesla has made so little progress on their vehicle lineup in the last 5 years that I have to wonder if they simply can’t retain engineers for long enough to complete significant work. (E.g., the model 3 is 9 years old and just got what most automakers would consider a mid-cycle refresh)
It’s quite embarrassing that Tesla doesn’t make the most efficient EV on the market given their head start.
It’s going to be similarly embarrassing when they inevitably fall behind in self driving if they haven’t already, if Waymo wasn’t an embarrassing enough presence to Tesla.
