Show HN: Praxos Update: iMessage and SMS Actions

3•mogusian•2h ago
October 29th Update

What's new, in 10 seconds.

* iMessage & SMS actions: have Praxos read incoming messages and do tasks for you. * Message search: Search across all your text conversations and contacts. * Quality of life upgrades: video and image editing, location-based actions, file retrieval, and more.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

iMessage & SMS actions

Praxos can auto-forward inbound iMessages and SMS messages.

This means that you can have your conversations stored, and later used to set up triggers or automatic actions based on the contents of incoming messages.

You have granular over this feature, from picking specific senders to only taking action based on wording. It can also be much more general.

For example:

* If I receive a message from my dad asking me to buy milk on my way home, add it to my shopping list. * If Lucas asks me to edit a document he is drafting before Nov. 1st, add a deadline to my Google Calendar, attach the file to the event, and remind me about it next Saturday morning. * If Praxos texts my grandmother to take her medication, and she does not respond, ping me before end of day. * If I receive promotional messages, automatically reply stop. * If my mom asks me to send receipts of my last purchase, automatically fetch the receipt from my email and send it to her.

Forwarding messages means that you can now also search across your entire conversation history!

If you would like to start adding these automations, connect with us on Discord ( https://discord.gg/wVmrXD2dJA ) and we will help you one-on-one. They require special setup; we are working on simplifying the process.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quality of life upgrades

* Location based functionalities: Praxos can now find stuff near you, using the location to find products, paths, restaurants, etc. * Extended webhooks: We now support webhook triggers for Outlook as well. Calendar/Drive will soon be added. * Editing Images and Videos is now possible. * Voice note support: send Praxos a voice note with what you want done, and it'll get done. It works the same as text! * Messaging systems are more robust. Praxos will ask you to clarify your message if something is missing or ambiguous. * File retrieval upgrade: Praxos can now find old files that you have uploaded directly, and even fetch them for you on command/send them to you as needed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
