It's the same everywhere. I think that at some point in your life you've seen enough error codes on machines around the house, enough windows 0x8048154 errors, printer errors and enough weirdness on websites that you need to get reacquainted with error messages that are actually helpful. Software dev tools are really an exception (pun intended) and indeed made to guide you.

But the amount of times I've told my partner: What did it say before it crashed? and the answer was "idk" is staggering, I tell her: Please take pictures of any errors around the house (most recently "E18" on washing machine... It's always an object in the pump!).

Regardless of how cryptic they are, they are the start of solving a problem.
