Show HN: QRShrt – Turn your shirt into a photo collection system with QR codes

2•legitcoders•3mo ago
Hey HN! I built QRShrt (https://qrshrt.com) – a platform that lets you use a custom QR code on shirts, accessories, or signage to collect photos and videos from events.

The Problem: At events (weddings, parties, festivals), you miss out on photos that other people take. You either never see them, or they end up scattered across different phones and group chats.

The Solution: Display your QR code however you want. People scan it and instantly upload their photos/videos to your personal gallery. No app downloads, no account required for uploaders.

Product Options:

Shirts/Hoodies – Casual events (festivals, bachelor parties, trips) Table signs – Weddings, receptions (couple doesn't need to wear anything) Wristbands – Festivals, concerts Pins/accessories – Formal events where t-shirts aren't appropriate Signage – Venue placement, photo booths Or just download your QR code and print it yourself (free) How it works:

Sign up and get a custom QR code + subdomain (e.g., yourname.qrshrt.com) Choose your product (or just use the QR code digitally) Display it at your event People scan → upload photos/videos directly to your page You get all the memories in one place Tech Stack:

Next.js 16 (Turbopack) + TypeScript Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage) Stripe for payments Printful API for fulfillment Vercel hosting Security features:

Upload time windows (control when people can upload) File validation (50MB images, 500MB videos) Firebase security rules Content Security Policy headers Pricing: Products start at $29.99 for shirts. You can download your QR code and use it however you want.

I originally built this for my own wedding (using table signs, not shirts), then realized it could work for any event where you want to collect photos. The "shirt" name stuck, but it's really about the QR code system.

Would love to hear your feedback!
