Show HN: Russet – Private AI companion using Apple's on-device foundation model

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/russet/id6754737926
3•nullnotzero•6h ago
I built Russet, a chat app that uses Apple's foundation model (the same one powering Apple Intelligence) to run completely on-device.

Everything is private and offline. No internet needed, no account, no tracking. Your conversations never leave your iPhone/iPad/Mac.

Features:

- Privacy-first: Your data (prompts & responses) never leaves your device

- Uses Apple's foundation model sitting at the core of Apple Intelligence

- All processing happens locally on-device

Why "Russet"? Named after the humble potato because it's resilient and self-contained. After all, what good is intelligence without access?

Feedback welcome!

Requires Apple Intelligence to function
