Because european streets are much smaller and more bendy

I must be old but I still don't get why we want self-driving cars. Self-driving subways and trains, maybe, but I just don't see the need (from ordinary people) of self-driving cars. Can someone enlighten me?
I guess one of the reasons is "machines are more consistent than humans". But what if I just trust myself more? Then I still need to pay for this feature because maybe every car will have this as default and they just hike the prices anyway.

Time you are looking through the windscreen is time you could be scrolling on your phone.

take a train and watch other people...are they looking through the windows, or are they doing something else?
