So the BBC's competitor ran a story to bludgeon the BBC. The White House addressed the story. And now the BBC's other competitor is running its own muckraking story to also bash the BBC.
The ironic part is that only the BBC has independent commission exposing these things to daylight. But both the Guardian and the Independent do the same thing (bc it's a standard industry practice).

Are you describing the Grauniad as a competitor? I see this as bludgeoning Trump rather than the BBC; its readers respect the latter and not the former.
What they're reporting on is in the Torygraph, which definitely does have it out for the BBC. They're not exactly in love with Trump but they much prefer him to, say, Starmer.
