I started by asking AI/googling then went on to check.
Stuff like odoo or espocrm is crippled opencore software where they actually rip out essential parts from the free offering in order to force monitization.
So I couldn’t find any modern crm or erp that’s open source and isn’t crippled or looks/feels like the 90’s.
I would love to hear what people actually use.
Looking for free, open source, modern.
Not opencore crippleware, not saas!
Well, I’ll join you watching. But from a practical perspective a business needs a working solution. Hoping for the future won’t help today. :-)

And, this is an open core project as well. Check the note regarding enterprise license at the top of the license file. So I don’t see how it’s different.

i made https://github.com/denys-olleik/alternative-accounting, with cloud key and email address you can be https in six minutes. doesn't have pos but has real double entry journal and very simple architecture anyone can easily code changes, just takes consecutive concentration.

Thanks. I’m interested more in CRM and helpdesk features. Also I would have preferred a mature proven trusted solution. I understand that the only CRM out there that is free and open source is SuiteCRm. Going to maybe try it.

Erpnext kinda comes up first in my research so far. Fully free. Modern ui. Extensible. Simple. Etc..
