Raising my hand as someone who's checked Settings > General > Software Update way too many times.

I got tired of finding out about iOS updates from Twitter 6 hours after they dropped, so I built EarlyNotify.

It's dead simple: the system watches Apple's firmware servers, and when a new iOS/iPadOS/macOS/watchOS/tvOS update hits, you get an email within 15 minutes. That's it.

No app to install. No account dashboard. Just an email saying "hey, iOS 26.1 just dropped."

It's free, open-source, no upsells, just notifications.

Would love any feedback! Happy to answer questions about how it works under the hood!

P.S. iOS 26.1 dropped on the 3rd November ;)

I for one am always itching to be the first to experience day one bugs including those that cause critical loss of data to iphotos and notes.

I tend to keep up to date on new firmware, but I’d love to be notified if a surprise firmware drops for an old device such as the Apple Watch SE1 or 12” Apple MacBook (2017). I don’t see older devices listed.

Also the Apple Watch models only go up to Series 5. Apple is currently on Series 11, so there are quite a few missing.

You make a valid point with the Apple Watch SE1! I personally don't have an Apple Watch so didn't spot this, but it looks like Apple stopped with pushing updates this way for the Apple watch from the Series 6 and SE1 :(

In a similar way the 2017 MacBook updates are not present via the checks I run :( Good chance Apple has either given up hosting with it now being EOL or are running on some separate infrastructure.
