You’re doomscrolling because technology companies profit from you doomscrolling and corporations don't care it's not good for us, in sum total.

Boredom, genuine downtime, the ability to sit with nothing, is genuinely important. It's when your mind wanders, makes unexpected connections, actually processes things. It's how creativity often happens. The fact that people are increasingly unable to tolerate boredom is its own problem.

You aren't bored because you don't love anything. You are bored because it's human to be bored. Get comfortable with it.
