A plant that literally cannot kill someone via overdose. Intoxication at a fraction of the cost of alcohol. Less trackable by law enforcement. More potential medical benefits: Sleep aid, anxiety and PTSD treatment, appetite stimulant for cancer victims. Safer and simpler to harvest/produce than alcohol.

So let's re-ban it after six years and the creation of a multi-billion dollar industry. The wrong people were making money.

Literally no one wants this ban except people paid off by alcohol lobbies, and religious extremists (who are usually using that as a cover for their bribery from the alcohol lobbies).
