My tax dollars should never go to fund political ideologies.
TimorousBestie•1h ago
What’s a government expenditure that doesn’t support one political ideology or the other?
krapp•1h ago
You voted for Trump specifically hoping your tax dollars would fund your anti-leftist ideology. STFU.
techblueberry•1h ago
How, what could you possibly fund that’s not a political ideology?

I think the thing about critical race theory and similar ideas are, it’s like good that these ideas exist and are debated in academia, and somewhat good that they influence broader society, but a lot of ideas that are good for academia are not supposed to be applied unfiltered to human society.

I like what you might call “woke ideas”; listening to code switch, and have done women’s studies classes and been a part of diversity groups, but really digging deep into it is niche activity. If you want to teach kids about anti-racism, it seems much better for broad development and less controversial to focus on multiculturalism, with say fiction from all over the world and a variety of perspectives, then like “anti-racist baby”

The chronic library complainers and book banners do not perceive a difference between these options, and capitulating to their demands merely allows them to gripe about something else.

I volunteer at my local library, and these malcontents are the worst part of the job.
