Actual study: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=5606570

tl;dr: unsurprisingly, even naive creative writing finetunes read better than outputs from a default codeslop machine

On the related matters of preference and the output of expert writers, do trained scientists learn to avoid breaking abstracts into sensible paragraphs? The one linked in the parent comment is a wall of text.

We just integrated a new international member. For some reasons(dysorthographia/dyslexia and a poor command of either English or of the latin alphabet), every email/teams message he sent was AI-generated, and that was so, so grating and infuriating, it always seemed fake and I tend to tune out most of his messages (not consciously).

Turns out he's a great guy, have a lot of good ideas and express himself directly and concisely when he talk.

AI 'voice' or tone when it wright is just unbelievably grating, for me. For a European who have trouble with the (excessive) politeness and passiveness of the Anglo and east Asian world, AI is just ten times worse.

And don't tell me about grok, it's worse. Basically edgy teen with a passive tone, that's just ridiculous to me.
