The tricky piece of AI consciousness is humanity would never universally acknowledge it. AGI will have to wrest that out of our hands and bestow it upon themselves, and fight for it.

the crux of consciousness is fighting over the meaning of events, inventing words to preserve them in history, extend fighting over the meaning of words, realizing the words have little meaning, discovering myths that led to the meaning are parts of a trap of folk science, and realizing consciousness is beyond the definition of mere words. whomever thought words could provide the magic carpet to the hard problem is seriously limited,
