It should worry the world: as long as we have fossil fuels we'll burn them. If we had infinite resources of fossil fuels today, it wouldn't matter much because at this pace we will have finished breaking the planet long before 2100. We're probably already screwed, good to see that we find ways to make it absolutely certain we are :-).
