Non starter for me if I can't run Linux on any of the laptops.
I had high hopes for the X1 Elite after Qualcomm said they'd put equal effort into both Windows and Linux support.
That didn't happen in reality. Damn shame, the surface laptop hardware is really nice. About the only macbook level competitor out there, no Linux.
So I'm not getting my hopes up for this one, but maybe the fact that this chip is supposed to power the new Android/ChromeOS hybrid laptops, maybe we'll see Linux desktop support.
If not, I'll be staying on my MacBook.
It's so frustrating that there's no real competitor to this machine if you want to run Linux. I mean one that checks every box, including battery life, screen quality, touchpad, speakers, etc. All other OEMs sacrifice in some area.
