Being critical for the sake of it is performative, and to what end? It’s leaning into life as a stage metaphor to an absurd degree.
Take for example that music and food critics aren’t critical of their subject matter because they hate music or food.
If your critique isn’t highlighting pathways to improvement, or encouraging seeking answers to open ended questions, then you’re just a hater, not a critic.
