The shift in the psychological traits is both alarming but also perplexing. How much of this is attributable to growing up during the pandemic? Millennials also use social media after all, so I feel we can’t attribute too much to it unless the argument is that TikTok specifically is worse than anything else.

It's perplexing that the history's most seismic shift in child rearing/childhood isn't considered here
Increasing time spent in adult populated boxes from a few hrs/wk to 24/7.
Decreasing adult-free peer time from hours/day to none, ever.
Decreasing roaming area from many sq mi to a few sq ft.
Increasing parenting time from a few hours a week to 24/7 adulting.

I can agree with all those. When I was growing up my Brother and I would ride our bikes everywhere.... many miles away from home all the time while Mom was at work. This was just normal. I've seen them throw a parent in jail for letting their kid walk home from the bus stop.... it was just normal when I was a kid. Times sure have changed.
