Wow, CNBC thinks being a shill for corporations that have pushed the throwaway economic model on us is news worthy. Just wait, in their next article they'll talk about the environmental damage of all the throw away electronics.

There is no loss of innovation by having reliable things than can last several years. What is actually criminal is selling a device that should last for 5 years but allowing it to become insecure the day it's released with no updates or fixes even within their warranty period.
