I agree there probably should be some regulations around car door handles. I wouldn't be surprised if some companies have plans to remove handles altogether and use cameras to detect an "opening gesture" or some nonsense.

This article does seems to intermingle "retractable", "electronic", and "electronic retractable" door handles.
